The Namesake

Three things:

  1. Kumar goes to another white castle (the Taj Mahal)
Kal Penn was the answer to this film’s Gogol search. He and all the players were well caste.

  2. Paints a vivid picture of another culture.
Rich atmosphere, great coverage of India’s culture and ceremonies.

  3. Sweet but not short.
Because they are trying to cover so much family history, some emotional moments feel rushed in this lengthy saga.

If you allow yourself to be immersed in the well rendered atmosphere of this film, you wont be sari.
