R’noh Thai Restaurant
1000 Magnolia Ave.
Larkspur, CA
415.925.0599

Thai restaurant hidden in back of small converted building.

What kind of conservative yoyo doesn’t like to try a new restaurant hideaway? Not me. When I saw a little Thai restaurant spring up in Larkspur, I had to give it a try.

Service:
Slender waitresses in Thai silk tops and long skirts with practical shoes. Very attentive and efficient. Food, drinks, bill all brought on cue and with a smile.

Beverages:
Thai hot tea, not a sweetened tea. Adequate
water with a slice of orange – fine.

Do they serve rabbit?
Not on menu – respect!
Atmosphere: Clean and pleasant, nothing particularly special.

Scallops with lime, lemongrass vinaigrette over mesclun:
Scallops were cooked so that they were moist and flavorful – would be even better if they were seared at a higher heat.

Green Papaya salad with carrots and tomatoes in peanut dressing:
Refreshing salad didn’t fully overcome the out of season tomatoes and requisite iceberg lettuce. Enjoyable, but nothing to write the hutch about.

Beef, Cauliflower, Zukes and assorted veggies cooked in hot Thai sauce:
Nice Thai basil, everything was well cooked and flavorful but didn’t fulfill the “hot” that was stated on the menu. Veggies were exceptionally fresh and cooked to retain crispiness. Avoided the “soggy vegetable syndrome” so common to dishes of this type.

Overall Rating:

2 carrots (out of 4)
Everyone was nice, the food was fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

"Great!" R'noh Thai Bathroom Rating:
Clean and well stocked. Nothing fancy, but considering what you do in there, nothing to complain about.
